Tying a pretty bow? Can someone please explain/show me how to make a nice-pretty-straight bow on the back of a op or jsk? Cute plush I have some questions about the company "cute plush".
Basically I ordered from the site quite a while ago, but I never got any confirmation from them. Is this normal?
Also, I tried to email the seller to check if my items were sent, but no response was given :(
I am fairly sure she has an LJ account, so if someone could tell me who she is I could try contact her that way instead.

Galena Getaway 2008 Photos (Photo Heavy, But All Lovely!) A little while ago I hosted a fantabulous weekend at The Ryan Mansion of Galena. There were a few hiccups such as a last minute cancellation and a tornado, but overall the trip was truly amazing and a fantastic experience for all. The Ryan Mansion was GORGEOUS and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful to us in addition to being historical enthusiasts who didn't keel over at the idea of a few girls in fluffy dresses running around their B&B for the weekend. The welcome was so warm that I am making it the official choice of ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) egl for any future Midwest getaways. There is nothing like spending three days in an authentic Victorian-era mansion with a butler, maids, and a hostess who dons 1870s gowns for the fun of it. The full report on the event will be in the upcoming Gothic and Lolita Bible, so please look forward to it! In the meantime, here are some of the pictures that weren't used for the article. Call for Help Hey guys - I got some bad news tonight. As some of you know, I worked at the Cat's Cradle back in college. It was a private nonprofit no kill shelter run by a really incredible woman, Gail Allen. She taught me a lot of things in my 2 years with her; through her, I learned determination, dedication and the nobility of sacrifice. I attribute a lot of my chronic volunteerism to her. She showed me the importance of serving a cause higher than yourself. I just found out that Gail has lung cancer that has spread to various parts of her body. She is shutting down the shelter that she spent the last decade running. 150 cats need homes and soon. They are all spay/neutered and up to date on shots. I don't know how up to date this website is, but most of this info should still be good: http://www.thecatscradle.net/ Gail is a phenomenal human being. She deserves all the help we can get for her. If you know anyone who might want a cat or might be able to take in just one more, please steer them towards the Cat's Cradle. |

Sweatin' cute! I thought I would share the outfit I'm wearing to roller derby practice tonight! Fashion-wise, don't take me too seriously...I'm mostly dressed for practicality and, you know, sports. Just imagine this on roller skates with big ol' knee pads, a sticker-plastered skate helmet and a fierce grimace! ;)

Brand Tea Parties/Events Question
Well..with the recent news of BTSSB coming to NYAF in September, and mentioning a Tea Party being held, I was wondering for those of you lucky enough to attend events similar to this (AP's Tea Party at PMX, for example) Is it a general rule of sorts that you wear the brand that the tea party is being held by?
I'm only wondering because I don't have at all an head to toe Baby outfit, and at the same time I don't want to be rude to the designers.
So any general input would be lovely.

stupid lace questions
my local Jo-Anns carries a synthetic Venise lace that resembles the kind used on the collar of The White Peacock's Venise Blouse. now, TWP uses a not-so-pleasant synthetic Raschel on their other pieces, but the Venise Blouse i would say is higher quality. this synthetic Venise lace is soft and flexible, but appears somewhat shiny. if i buy it, it will be used in conjunction with other cotton lace. would you recommend i order lace from somewhere else rather than purchase the synthetic Venise? i know that synthetic raschel is a no-no, so i figured i'd ask about this kind, too, although it seems much nicer. i did a comm search for "synthetic venise" and didn't find anything relevant. thanks! |
